fly fishing the middle owens river near bishop and mammoth has been excellent recently. stable conditions have the trout in predictable holding areas with conditions near perfect for wading and guided drift boating. the mayfly, stonefly, and midge hatches are adding surface action to the excitement daily. the mild winter will extend these conditions well into spring this year. doubles like this have been common, just ask ed bowen and john bakken who had several on their guided drift boat trip.
